Buddha Retreats is a yoga center in Portugal 70km north of Lisbon in the picturesque village of Columbeira. It is a place where guests can relax and recharge and slow down from the often fast-paced daily life and take care of body and mind.

Besides yoga, the center offers healthy and yummy food. Most of the meals are prepared with ingredients out of the veggie garden fresh produce bought from the local markets.

The spacious gardens surrounding Buddha Retreats provide more than enough space for everyone to enjoy their stay, close to nature.

The property consists of the main house, several additional buildings, terraces, an indoor and outdoor yoga studio, a swimming pool, a small river, fruit trees, a meditation garden and rural land. The gardens surrounding the main house have around 5000 m2 and offer enough space to relax.

Yoga is an ancient art based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind, and spirit. The continued practice of yoga will lead you to a sense of peace and well-being, and also a feeling of being at one with their environment. The practice of yoga makes the body strong and flexible, it also improves the functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive, and hormonal systems. Yoga brings about emotional stability and clarity of mind. In the practice of Yoga, the ultimate aim is one of self-development and self-realization.

With the demands of modern life, many of us feel stressed and over-worked. Do you often feel like there is just not enough time in the day to get everything done? Pressure and tiredness make us unhappy, irritated and unsatisfied. It can even affect our health. Meditation actually gives you more time by making your mind calmer and more concentrated. Even fifteen minute breathing meditation can help you to overcome anxiety and find some inner peace and balance.

Meditation can also help us to understand our own mind and learn how to transform negative thinking to positive, from anxious to peaceful. The purpose of meditation is to make our mind free from worries and mental discomfort. By training in meditation, we create an inner space and clarity that enables us to control our mind in the most difficult situations.

This is a deep spiritual practice you can enjoy during the day, not just while seated in meditation.

There are many types of meditation, as breathing meditation, Zen, Tantra, Kundalini, Kriya, Chakra, Transcendental, Mantra, Loving Kindness and much more. All of them have powerful effects on body and mind.

Movement is a combination of various practices that improve your body and mind with a lot of good energy. You will work with body awareness, coordination, balance, stability, mobility and what is most important your practice will be focused on playful games and lots of fun.

Holistic Korean mind and body exercise training that is designed to awaken your body and brain to its highest potential. This practice helps you improve your physical health, reduce stress levels and stabilize emotions. Techniques include tapping, shaking, stretching, core strength building exercises, breathing, and Qi Gong sequences. Through classes, you gain physical endurance, higher energy levels and a calm and clear mind amongst other benefits.

The aim of this practice is to connect your body and mind to be more balanced and calm. Find a way how to replace the heavy emotion with inner joy. You will learn a higher sensitivity for your energy to increase overall well-being and health with satisfaction.

Mindfulness means maintaining awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and the surrounding environment.

Mindfulness also involves acceptance, meaning that we pay attention to our thoughts and feelings without judging them – without believing, for instance, that there is a right or wrong way to think or feel in a given moment. When we practice mindfulness, our thoughts tune into what we?re sensing in the present moment rather than rehashing the past or imagining the future.

Mindfulness will be the heart of the whole week, the atmosphere will be relaxed and playful and the schedule is designed to give participants an integrated and safe engagement. This will be a great boost for those with an existing practice and a wonderful start for those new to mindfulness.

Here are some of these benefits:

Mindfulness is good for:

  • Our bodies by boosting the immune system?s ability to fight off illness,
  • Our minds by increasing positive emotions.
  • Helps us focus
  • Enhances relationships
  • Decrease depression, anxiety, stress level

The Access Bars are 32 bars of energy (specific points located on your head) that run through and around your head which store the electromagnetic component of all the thoughts, ideas, attitudes, decisions and beliefs that you have ever had about anything: money, the body, relationships, sex, creativity, power, aging, just to name a few. Each Bar corresponds with a different aspect or area of your life. We all create a whole array of limitations, originating all in our head – feelings of not believing in ourselves, destructive ideas about relationships or money, and many other sabotaging beliefs.

People who experienced a Bars treatment reported improved health, better sleep, a deep feeling of relaxation, improved mood, relief from anxiety, and much more. Access Bars facilitates clearing the energy blocked up in those areas on our head. People report most frequently an increased level of relaxation, they often fall asleep during a treatment. Some experience a feeling of warmth, tingling, inner organs relaxing, slight headaches followed by a sense of relief. Come and see for yourself!

This massage is characterized by deep, full presence, loosening touch. It is a holistic massage that combines two levels of experience: body (health) and emotions.

Shiatsu is a contemporary bodywork therapy which works on all the different energetic levels of the body, physical, emotional and spiritual. It has evolved from thousands of years of Oriental medical history.

Like acupuncture, and comparable diagnostic methods, but without the use of needles. Shiatsu acts upon the subtle anatomy of the body wherein energy known as “Ki” flows to the organs and all the body areas through the pathways known as meridians (channels of energy).

By applying pressure to reflex areas, a reflexologist is said to remove energy blockages and promote health in the related body area.

I am a Yoga Teacher and Shiatsu Therapist. I work on body’s energy channels to improve the functions of inner organs by using technics like yoga, meditation, qi-gong and shiatsu massage. My main focus is on the awareness of body, mind and soul.

I promote the consciousness way of living and believe in our inner power that can create the life we want. I support people in the process of change, self-discovery and awaking. My intention is to share the knowledge and expierence I have to inspire others and to lead them to the happiness.

I am a certified Zen Yoga and a mindfulness meditation teacher, as well as a practitioner of meridian and Korean energy yoga. I also offer holistic treatments with the Access Bars method. I teach regular Zen Yoga classes, as well as organize monthly themed workshops from the field of yoga, mindfulness-based stress reduction and energy work.

My main goal is to assist you in the process of maintaining both a healthy body and a healthy mind in order to improve your quality of life. I offer my help in learning to better deal with the stress of everyday life by giving you proven mindfulness and yoga-based tools.

I am Movement Practitioner and Teacher, combining both movement and stillness in my daily longevity practice. I believe that developing body awareness is a great tool to discover and deepen potential and knowledge about ourselves. Another great value is the improvement of mobility, that helps to open stagnant parts of the body to reset natural circulation and flow.

I also do the reflexology treatments, which purifies the body from the toxins, bringing harmony in the energy flow. My aim is to learn from the daily practice values, discover myself through the movement and implementing this knowledge in the other areas of my life.
